![]() ![]() We’ve been through a lot as a tight unit. SH: The three of us have been in bands and we’ve been pals since we were 15. What’s the reason for that – are you wary of messing with the three-piece dynamic? Or is it purely a practical thing? ![]() MF: You play with other musicians in your live shows, but Two Door Cinema Club is an interesting entity for never having included a full time drummer. I think when you have a couple of years off from travelling, you start to miss it a bit and then can appreciate the fact you get to go to all these cool places and you start to actually leave your hotel room on days off. ![]() And actually on the last campaign with Gameshow we enjoyed We had a couple of years off and I think it allowed us to sit back and take stock. Sam Halliday: We’ve definitely all changed over the years and musically we are into quite different things, but I think that really makes the whole thing so much more interesting. Are the three of you still on the same page in terms of your commitment to the band? As you grow older, your priorities and perspective changes. You were still teenagers when you started out. Music Feeds: The band’s been in the public eye for over a decade now. Music Feeds speaks to lead guitarist Halliday. But amid these inquiries, the Belfast band sound united. Lyrically, the record reflects the prevailing uncertainty in global politics, as well as the contemporary dependency on social media. ![]()
